Kārttikeya-Abhiṣecana: Mātṛgaṇa-Nāma Saṃkīrtana and Skanda’s Commission

The verse underscores that war is not an abstract event but a convergence of named individuals with power and agency; ethical responsibility (dharma) rests on such leaders and warriors, whose valor must be judged by the cause and conduct it serves.
Vaiśampāyana enumerates prominent fighters—naming several powerful figures—within the Shalya Parva war account, likely as part of a broader listing of forces or notable combatants present in the battle.
