स एवमभिनिनश्ित्य तस्मिन् कूपे महातपा: । ददर्श वीरुध॑ तत्र लम्बमानां यदृच्छया,इस प्रकार विचार करते-करते महातपस्वी त्रितने उस कुएँमें एक लता देखी, जो दैवयोगसे वहाँ फैली हुई थी
sa evam abhininiścitya tasmin kūpe mahātapāḥ | dadarśa vīrudhaṁ tatra lambamānāṁ yadṛcchayā ||
ครั้นมหาฤๅษีตรีตะตั้งจิตแน่วแน่ดังนั้นแล้ว ขณะอยู่ในบ่อน้ำนั้นก็แลเห็นเถาวัลย์เลื้อยเส้นหนึ่งห้อยลงมาโดยบังเอิญ ท่ามกลางความคับขัน โชคชะตาย่อมอาจประทานที่พึ่งอันบอบบาง—มิใช่เพื่อยอมแพ้ หากเพื่อเปิดทางให้ความเพียรและความอดทน
