Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | tato devayuge 'tīte devā vai samakalpayan | yajñaṃ vedapramāṇena vidhivad yaṣṭum īpsavaḥ ||

Translation

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—ครั้นกาลแห่งเทวะล่วงไปแล้ว เหล่าเทวดาทั้งหลายได้ตกลงกันว่า ปรารถนาจะประกอบยัญตามหลักฐานแห่งพระเวท และตามพิธีกรรมโดยชอบธรรม
