Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon
Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15
विसृष्टस्य रणे तस्य परमास्त्रस्य संग्रहे । अशक्तः पाण्डवादन्य: साक्षादपि शतक्रतु:
visṛṣṭasya raṇe tasya paramāstrasya saṅgrahe | aśaktaḥ pāṇḍavād anyaḥ sākṣād api śatakratuḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—เมื่ออาวุธสูงสุดนั้นถูกปล่อยออกไปในสนามรบแล้ว ในหมู่ปาณฑพไม่มีผู้ใดนอกจากอรชุนที่มีกำลังพอจะเรียกคืนและเก็บงำมันได้ แม้แต่ศตกรตุ คือพระอินทร์เองก็ยังไม่อาจทำได้ ครั้นอาวุธทิพย์ถูกปล่อยครั้งหนึ่งในสงคราม การนำกลับคืนเป็นสิ่งยากยิ่งแม้สำหรับเหล่าเทพ มีแต่อรชุนผู้สำรวมเท่านั้นที่ยับยั้งวิถีทำลายล้างของมันได้
