Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon

Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15

एवं धृतिमत: साधो: सर्वास्त्रविदुष: सतः । सभ्रातृबन्धो: कस्मात्‌ त्वं वधमस्य चिकीर्षसि,ये ऐसे धैर्यवान, साधु, सम्पूर्ण अस्त्रोंके ज्ञाता तथा सत्पुरुष हैं, तथापि तुम भाई- बन्धुओंसहित इनका वध करनेकी इच्छा क्‍यों रखते हो?

evaṁ dhṛtimataḥ sādhoḥ sarvāstraviduṣaḥ sataḥ | sabhrātṛbandhoḥ kasmāt tvaṁ vadham asya cikīrṣasi ||

เขาผู้นั้นมั่นคง องอาจ เป็นคนดี เป็นผู้รู้ศาสตราวุธทั้งปวง และยืนอยู่พร้อมพี่น้องญาติวงศ์—เหตุไฉนเจ้าจึงยังปรารถนาจะให้เขาถึงความตาย?
