Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon
Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15
उवाच भरतश्रेष्ठ तावृषी प्राउजलिस्तदा । प्रमुक्तमस्त्रमस्त्रेण शाम्पतामिति वै मया
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
uvāca bharataśreṣṭha tāv ṛṣī prāñjalīs tadā |
pramuktam astram astreṇa śāmpatām iti vai mayā ||
โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐแห่งภารตะ! ครั้นนั้นเขาประนมมือกราบทูลฤๅษีทั้งสองว่า—“ข้าแต่มุนีผู้ประเสริฐ ข้าพเจ้าใช้อาวุธนี้ก็เพื่อให้อาวุธต้านทานทำให้พรหมาสตรที่ศัตรูปล่อยนั้นสงบลงเท่านั้น หากบัดนี้ต้องถอนอาวุธอันยอดเยี่ยมนี้กลับ อัศวัตถามา บุตรแห่งโทรณะ ผู้กระทำบาป จะอาศัยเดชแห่งอาวุธของตนเผาพวกเราทั้งหมดให้เป็นเถ้าถ่านแน่แท้”
