दुर्योधनस्य बलिवर्णनम् — Duryodhana’s Description of Tribute at the Rājasūya
ईश्वरत्वं पृथिव्याश्व॒ वसुमत्तां च तादृशीम् । यज्ञं च तादृशं दृष्टवा मादृश: को न संज्वरेत्,शत्रुओंके पास समस्त भूमण्डलका वह साम्राज्य, वैसी धन-रत्नोंसे भरी सम्पदा और उनका वैसा उत्कृष्ट राजसूययज्ञ देखकर मेरे-जैसा कौन पुरुष चिन्तित न होगा?
īśvaratvaṃ pṛthivyāś ca vasumattāṃ ca tādṛśīm | yajñaṃ ca tādṛśaṃ dṛṣṭvā mādṛśaḥ ko na saṃjvaret ||
เมื่อเห็นศัตรูครอบครองอำนาจเหนือแผ่นดิน เห็นทรัพย์สมบัติอันอุดมด้วยรัตนะ และเห็นยัญพิธีอันยิ่งใหญ่เช่นนั้น—ผู้ใดเล่าที่เป็นเช่นเราจะไม่ร้อนรุ่มกระวนกระวาย?
