अद्य त्वामनुपश्यामि कर्ण हत्वा महीपते | सभाजयितुमाक्रन्दादिति सत्यं ब्रवीमि ते,भूपाल! आज मैं कर्णको मारकर ही आपका दर्शन करूँगा और युद्धस्थलसे आपका अभिनन्दन करनेके लिये आऊँगा। यह मैं आपसे सत्य कहता हूँ

Transliteration

adya tvām anupaśyāmi karṇa hatvā mahīpate | sabhājayitum ākrandād iti satyaṁ bravīmi te ||

Translation

ข้าแต่มหาบพิตร วันนี้ข้าพเจ้าจะเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์ได้ก็ต่อเมื่อได้สังหารกรรณะแล้วเท่านั้น แล้วท่ามกลางเสียงอึกทึกแห่งสมรภูมิ ข้าพเจ้าจะเข้ามาถวายบังคมและคารวะ—ข้าพเจ้ากล่าวความจริงนี้แด่พระองค์
