अर्जुनकर्णसंनिपातवर्णनम् / The Convergence of Arjuna and Karṇa

अग्रगं धार्तराष्ट्राणां सर्वेषां शर्म वर्म च । रक्षितं वृषसेनेन सुषेणेन च धन्विना,कर्ण युद्धमें विषधर सर्पके समान भयंकर, सम्पूर्ण शस्त्र-विद्याओंमें निपुण तथा कौरवोंका अगुआ था। वह शत्रुपक्षमें सबका कल्याण-साधक और कवच बना हुआ था। वृषसेन और सुषेण-जैसे धनुर्धर उसकी रक्षा करते थे

agragaṁ dhārtarāṣṭrāṇāṁ sarveṣāṁ śarma varma ca |

rakṣitaṁ vṛṣaseṇena suṣeṇena ca dhanvinā ||

ยุธิษฐิระกล่าวว่า “กรรณะเป็นผู้นำหน้าในหมู่โอรสแห่งธฤตราษฏระ เป็นทั้งที่พึ่งและเกราะกำบังของพวกเขาทั้งปวง. เขามีนักธนูวฤษเสนะและสุษেণคอยพิทักษ์”
