ताडयामास समरे तिष्ठ तिछेति चाब्रवीत् । महाराज! उस समय उन दोनोंमें रोमांचकारी युद्ध होने लगा। धृष्टद्युम्नने समरांगणमें झुकी हुई गाँठवाले बाणसे राधापुत्र कर्णको चोट पहुँचायी और कहा--'खड़ा रह, खड़ा रह'

tāḍayāmāsa samare tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābravīt |
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ในสนามรบเขาฟาดใส่แล้วร้องว่า ‘ยืนหยัด—ยืนหยัด!’ มหาราชเอ๋ย ครานั้นการต่อสู้ของทั้งสองทวีความดุเดือดและเร้าใจยิ่งนัก ธฤษฏทฺยุมน์ใช้ศรที่มีปมคดงอ (วักระ-ครันถิ) ยิงทำร้ายกรรณะ บุตรแห่งราธา ในสมรภูมิ แล้วท้าทายว่า ‘ยืนหยัด—ยืนหยัด!’ นี่คือขนบธรรมเนียมนักรบที่ต้องเผชิญหน้าคู่ควรต่อหน้า ทดสอบใจและเดชท่ามกลางภาระหนักแห่งสงคราม”
