Karna Reproves Shalya; Brahmin Reports on Bāhlīkas; Shalya’s Universalizing Rebuttal (कर्ण–शल्य संवादः)
एवं कृते कृतं साहां सर्वकामैर्भविष्यति,ऐसा करनेपर मेरी सम्पूर्ण इच्छाओंके अनुसार सहायता सम्पन्न हो जायगी। भारत! उस समय मैं संग्राममें जो कुछ करूँगा, उसे तुम स्वयं देख लोगे। युद्धस्थलमें आये हुए समस्त पाण्डवोंको निश्चय ही मैं सब प्रकारसे जीत लूँगा
evaṃ kṛte kṛtaṃ sāhaṃ sarvakāmair bhaviṣyati | bhārata! tadāhaṃ saṅgrāme yat kiṃcid kariṣyāmi, tat tvaṃ svayaṃ drakṣyasi | yuddhasthale āgatān samastān pāṇḍavān niścayaṃ sarvathā jayiṣyāmi ||
กรรณะกล่าวว่า “หากทำเช่นนี้แล้ว ข้าจะได้รับการเกื้อหนุนอย่างครบถ้วนตามความมุ่งหมายทั้งปวงของข้า โอ้ภารตะ! ครั้นแล้วในศึก ข้าจะทำสิ่งใด ท่านจักเห็นด้วยตาตนเอง ในสนามรบ ข้าจักพิชิตเหล่าปาณฑพที่มาปรากฏตัวทั้งหมดอย่างแน่นอน ทุกประการ”
