आस्तां ते स्तिमिते सेने रक्ष्यमाणे परस्परम्‌ । सम्प्रसुप्ते यथा नक्तं वनराज्यौ सुपुष्पिते

Transliteration

āstāṁ te stimitē sēnē rakṣyamāṇē parasparam | samprasuptē yathā naktaṁ vanarājyau supuṣpitē, āptair āśu parijñātaṁ bhāradvāja-cikīrṣitam ||

Translation

สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา ขอให้กองทัพทั้งสองยืนนิ่งประจันหน้ากัน ต่างฝ่ายต่างระวังรักษาซึ่งกันและกัน เฉกเช่นสันป่าคู่หนึ่งอันพร่างพรายด้วยดอกไม้ ที่ยามราตรีดูราวกับหลับใหล และในขณะนั้นเอง ด้วยข่าวกรองจากผู้สื่อสารที่ไว้วางใจได้ เจตนาของโอรสแห่งภารทวาชะ (โทรณะ)—ว่าเขามุ่งหมายจะกระทำสิ่งใด—ก็ถูกรู้แจ้งโดยฉับพลัน”
