Bhīṣma’s Reproof to Duryodhana
इति श्रीमहा भारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि हैडिम्बयुद्धे एकनवतितमो<ध्याय: ।। ९१ || इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत भीष्मपर्वके अन्तर्गत भीष्मवधपर्वमें घटोत्कच-युद्धाविषयक इक्यानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti śrīmahābhārate bhīṣmaparvaṇi bhīṣmavadhaparvaṇi haiḍimbayuddhe ekanavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ || 91 ||
ดังนี้ ในศรีมหาภารตะ ภีษมปรวะ ภาคว่าด้วยการล้มภีษม (ภีษมวธปรวะ) บทที่เก้าสิบเอ็ด อันกล่าวถึงศึกแห่งไหฑิมพะ (ฆโฏตฺกจ) ก็สิ้นสุดลง
संजय उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal instruction: it teaches how the epic self-organizes its narrative—placing particular battles and heroes within a larger ethical and strategic arc of the Kurukṣetra war, and signaling closure and continuity through formal markers.
Sañjaya formally concludes the chapter, identifying it as the ninety-first chapter within the Bhīṣma Parva, in the portion connected with Bhīṣma’s eventual fall, and noting that the chapter’s focus is the Haiḍimba (Ghaṭotkaca)-related battle.
