अफक्रान्तास्तुमुले सम्प्रमर्दे सुदारुणे भारत मोहनीये । अमूढचेतास्त्वथ चित्रसेनो महागदामापतत्तीं निरीक्ष्य

afakrāntās tumule sampramarde sudāruṇe bhārata mohanīye |
amūḍhacetas tv atha citraseno mahāgadām āpatattīṃ nirīkṣya ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ในมหาฆาตกรรมแห่งภารตะอันชวนให้หลงมัวเมา ดุเดือด อึงคะนึง และน่าสะพรึงยิ่งนัก ครั้นกระบองใหญ่พุ่งเข้ามา น่ากลัวประหนึ่งทัณฑ์ของยมราช เหล่ากุรุทั้งปวงก็ทอดทิ้งบุตรของท่านไว้ ณ ที่นั้น แล้วแตกกระจายไปทุกทิศเพื่อหลีกเลี่ยงการฟาดฟันอันรุนแรง มีแต่จิตรเสนเท่านั้นที่จิตมิได้สับสนเมื่อเห็นกระบองใหญ่นั้นพุ่งมา
