अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः
Yudhiṣṭhira–Śrutāyu encounter; Cekitāna–Gautama clash; Abhimanyu pressure; Arjuna’s redeployment
राजन! नरेश्वर! इस महान् संकटको पाकर भी स्थिरता-पूर्वक युद्धका यथावत् वृतान्त जैसा मैं बता रहा हूँ सुनिये ।। भीमसेन: सुनिशितैर्बाणर्भित््वा महाचमूम् । आससाद ततो वीर: सर्वान् दुर्योधनानुजान्,वीर भीमसेनने तीखे बाणोंसे आपकी विशाल सेनाको विदीर्ण करके दुर्योधनके सभी भाइयोंपर आक्रमण किया
sañjaya uvāca |
rājan nareśvara imaṁ mahāntaṁ saṅkaṭaṁ prāpya api sthiratā-pūrvakaṁ yuddhasya yathāvat vṛttāntaṁ yathā ahaṁ bravīmi tathā śṛṇu ||
bhīmasenaḥ suniśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ bhittvā mahācamūm |
āsasāda tato vīraḥ sarvān duryodhanānujān ||
ข้าแต่พระราชา ข้าแต่จอมแห่งมนุษย์! แม้มหาวิกฤตนี้จะบังเกิด ก็จงตั้งพระทัยให้มั่นและสดับเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะเล่าศึกตามที่เป็นจริง แล้ววีรบุรุษภีมเสนะก็ใช้ศรอันคมกริบเจาะทะลวงกองทัพใหญ่ของพระองค์ ก่อนพุ่งเข้าประจัญบานกับเหล่าน้องชายทั้งปวงของทุรโยธน์
