नाभौ पद्म बभूवास्य सर्वलोकस्य सम्भवात्‌ | तस्मात्‌ पितामहो जातस्तस्माज्जातास्त्विमा: प्रजा:,नारायणकी नाभिसे कमल प्रकट हुआ। सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌की उत्पत्तिके स्थानभूत उस कमलसे पितामह ब्रह्माजी उत्पन्न हुए और ब्रह्माजीसे ये सारी प्रजाएँ उत्पन्न हुई हैं

nābhau padma babhūvāsya sarvalokasya sambhavāt | tasmāt pitāmaho jātas tasmāj jātāstv imāḥ prajāḥ ||

จากพระนาภีของพระองค์ บัวดอกหนึ่งบังเกิดขึ้น เป็นบ่อเกิดแห่งโลกทั้งปวง จากบัวนั้นเอง ปิตามหะพรหมาได้ถือกำเนิด และจากพรหมา เหล่าประชาสรรพชีวิตทั้งมวลจึงอุบัติขึ้น
