भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

स्थिताश्च सर्वे त्वयि भूतसंघा: कृत्वा55श्रयं त्वां वरदं सुबाहो । अनादिमध्यान्तमपारयोगं लोकस्य सेतु प्रवदन्ति विप्रा:
sthitāś ca sarve tvayi bhūtasaṅghāḥ kṛtvā śrayaṃ tvāṃ varadaṃ subāho | anādimadhyāntam apārayogaṃ lokasya setuṃ pravadanti viprāḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “โอ้ผู้มีพาหาอันองอาจ ผู้ประทานพร! หมู่สรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวงอาศัยพระองค์เป็นที่พึ่ง และดำรงอยู่ในพระองค์เท่านั้น เหล่าพราหมณ์ผู้รู้ประกาศว่าพระองค์ปราศจากต้น กลาง และปลาย เกินกว่าขอบเขตการประมาณทั้งปวง และเป็นดุจ ‘สะพาน’ ที่ค้ำจุนระเบียบธรรมของโลก”
