शक्ति विनिहतां दृष्टवा वैराटि: क्रोधमूर्च्छित:
śaktiṁ vinihatāṁ dṛṣṭvā vairāṭiḥ krodha-mūrcchitaḥ | gadāṁ jagrāha saṁhṛṣṭo bhīṣmasya nidhanaṁ prati ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ครั้นเห็นการขว้างศัสตราของตนสูญเปล่า โอรสแห่งวิราฏะ (เศวตะ) ก็ถูกโทสะครอบงำจนคล้ายมึนงง; ด้วยความฮึกเหิมยินดี เขาคว้าคทาขึ้น หมายจะปลิดชีพภีษมะ”
