Adhyāya 41 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Gurv-anumati and Strategic Counsel (युधिष्ठिरस्य गुर्वनुमतिः)
हे अर्जुन! मेरी महत्-ब्रह्मरूप मूल प्रकृति सम्पूर्ण भूतोंकी योनि है अर्थात् गर्भाधानका स्थान है* और मैं उस योनिमें चेतनसमुदायरूप गर्भको स्थापन करता हूँ*। उस जड-चेतनके संयोगसे सब भूतोंकी उत्पत्ति होती है: ।।
sarvayoniṣu kaunteya mūrtayaḥ sambhavanti yāḥ | tāsāṁ brahma mahad yonir ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā ||
โอ อรชุน! สรรพสัตว์ผู้มีรูปกายทั้งปวงที่บังเกิดในครรภ์และวิถีกำเนิดนานาประการ จงรู้เถิดว่า “ปรกฤติอันยิ่งใหญ่” (มหัทพรหม) คือครรภ์ใหญ่ของเขาทั้งหลาย และเรานี่เองคือบิดาผู้ประทานพืชพันธุ์. เมื่อสสารกับจิตสำนึกรวมกัน จึงเกิดหมู่สัตว์ทั้งปวง; เพราะฉะนั้นพึงเห็นชีวิตทั้งหมดว่ามีรากอยู่ในแหล่งกำเนิดจักรวาลเดียว แล้วกระทำหน้าที่โดยปราศจากความชังและความทะนงตน.
