Bhīṣma-nipāta-saṃvāda — Sañjaya’s Report of Bhīṣma’s Fall (भीष्मनिपातसंवादः)
शंस मे तद् तथा चासीद् युद्ध भीष्मस्य पाण्डवै: । योषेव हतवीरा मे सेना पुत्रस्य संजय
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | śaṁsa me tad yathā cāsīd yuddhaṁ bhīṣmasya pāṇḍavaiḥ | yoṣevā hatavīrā me senā putrasya sañjaya ||
ธฤตราษฏระตรัสว่า “สัญชัย จงเล่าให้เราฟังตามจริงว่า ศึกระหว่างภีษมกับเหล่าปาณฑพดำเนินไปอย่างไร. ในการรบนั้น ใครบ้างยืนเคียงข้างภีษม ผู้พิฆาตศัตรู? เมื่อแม่ทัพมหาวีรผู้นั้นถูกสังหาร กองทัพของบุตรเราก็ไร้วีรชน ดุจหญิงหม้าย”
