sa samantāt parivṛto bhārato bharatarṣabha | nirdadāha raṇe śūrān vane vahnir iva jvalan ||
โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐแห่งวงศ์ภารตะ! แม้ถูกล้อมรอบทุกทิศ ท่านภีษมะผู้สืบสายภารตะก็เผาผลาญเหล่าวีรชนในสนามรบ ดุจไฟป่าที่ลุกโชนในพงไพร
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīṣma, though encircled by opponents, continues to strike down warriors powerfully—likened to a blazing forest-fire consuming everything in its path.
