Adhyāya 111 (Book 6): Daśama-dina-saṃgrāma—Bhīṣma’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira and the Śikhaṇḍin-Led Advance
तस्य तद् वचन श्रुत्वा सव्यसाची महारथ: । कालो<यमिति संचिन्त्य शिखण्डिनमचोदयत्,उसके उस कथनको सुनकर महारथी सव्यसाची अर्जुनने यह सोचकर कि यही इसके उत्साह बढ़ानेका अवसर है, शिखण्डीसे इस प्रकार कहा--
tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā savyasācī mahārathaḥ | kālo ’yam iti sañcintya śikhaṇḍinam acodayat ||
ครั้นได้ยินถ้อยคำนั้น อรชุนผู้เป็นมหารถีผู้เลื่องนามว่า “สวยัสสาจี” ก็รำพึงว่า “นี่แหละคือกาลอันควร” แล้วเร่งเร้าให้ศิขัณฑินรุกหน้า
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores discernment of the right moment (kāla) and decisive leadership: when a critical opportunity arises, one should act promptly and direct allies effectively, aligning action with the demands of duty in a complex situation.
Sanjaya narrates that Arjuna, after hearing a statement (from the immediate context), realizes that the decisive moment has come and therefore urges Śikhaṇḍin forward—setting up the tactical move associated with confronting Bhīṣma.
