भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः

Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma

जहि भीष्म॑ स्थिरो भूत्वा शृणु चेद॑ं वचो मम । यथोवाच पुरा शक्रं महाबुद्धिर्बहस्पति:,अर्जुन! तुम स्थिर होकर भीष्मको मारो और मेरी यह बात सुनो, जिसे पूर्वकालमें महाबुद्धिमान्‌ बृहस्पतिजीने देवराज इन्द्रको बताया था

jahi bhīṣmaṁ sthiro bhūtvā śṛṇu cedam vaco mama | yathovāca purā śakraṁ mahābuddhir bṛhaspatiḥ ||

โอ้ อรชุน จงยืนหยัดมั่นคงแล้วสังหารภีษมะเสีย และจงฟังถ้อยคำของเรานี้—ถ้อยคำเดียวกับที่พรหมาจารย์ผู้มีปัญญายิ่ง คือพฤหัสบดี เคยกล่าวแก่ศักระ (พระอินทร์) ในกาลก่อน
