Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit

evam ukte tataḥ kuntīṁ paryagṛhṇāj janārdanaḥ | bhūmau nipatitāṁ caināṁ sāntvayāmāsa bhārata ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma as compassionate action: even the greatest heroes must respond to suffering with care, restraint, and familial responsibility. Kṛṣṇa’s immediate support of Kuntī models ethical leadership through empathy.

After others speak (contextually, words that intensify Kuntī’s grief), Kuntī collapses to the ground. Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana) lifts/supports her and begins consoling her, with Vaiśampāyana narrating this to Janamejaya (addressed as Bhārata).
