धर्मलक्षणसंयुक्तमुक्त वो विधिवन्मया । गुणानां ग्रहणं सम्यग्‌ वक्ष्माम्यहमत: परम्‌,महर्षियो! यह मैंने तुमलोगोंसे लक्षणोंसहित धर्मका विधिवत्‌ वर्णन किया। अब यह बतला रहा हूँ कि किस गुणको किस इन्द्रियसे ठीक-ठीक ग्रहण किया जाता है

dharmalakṣaṇasaṃyuktam uktaṃ vo vidhivan mayā | guṇānāṃ grahaṇaṃ samyag vakṣmāmy aham ataḥ param, maharṣayaḥ ||

พระวายุตรัสว่า “ดูก่อนมหาฤษีทั้งหลาย! เราได้อธิบายธรรมพร้อมด้วยลักษณะจำแนกแก่ท่านทั้งหลายโดยถูกต้องตามวิธีแล้ว. บัดนี้ต่อไป เราจักกล่าวให้ชัดว่า คุณลักษณะแต่ละประการย่อมถูกรับรู้โดยอินทรีย์ใดอย่างถูกต้อง.”
