वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that when a righteous, dharma-centered authority (Vyāsa) acts as a benefactor, the granting of desires is framed not as indulgence but as a dharmic dispensation—boons are given under the guardianship of ethical order.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that in that particular moment, different people experienced different wishes, and Vyāsa—described as both boon-giving and devoted to dharma—fulfilled each person’s arising desire.
