Vidura’s Message to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: Authorization for Dāna and Public Welfare (विदुरवाक्यम्—दानानुज्ञा)

स्थानमप्यस्य नृपते: श्रोतुमिच्छाम्यहं विभो । त्वत्त: कीदूक्‌ कदा चेति तन्ममाख्याहि तत्त्वतः,'प्रभो! इन नरेशको जो स्थान प्राप्त होनेवाला है, उसे भी मैं आपके मुखसे सुनना चाहता हूँ। वह स्थान कैसा होगा और कब प्राप्त होगा--यह मुझे ठीक-ठीक बताइये”

sthānam apy asya nṛpateḥ śrotum icchāmy ahaṃ vibho | tvattaḥ kīdṛk kadā ceti tan mamākhyāhi tattvataḥ ||

ข้าแต่ผู้ทรงเดช ข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาจะฟังด้วยว่า กษัตริย์องค์นี้จะได้ไปสู่สถานใด จากท่านโปรดบอกตามความจริงโดยพิสดารว่า สถานนั้นเป็นเช่นไร และจะได้เมื่อใด
