Chatra–Upānah Dāna: Origin Narrative
Jamadagni–Reṇukā–Sūrya Saṃvāda
पुरा वरान् प्रत्यवरान् गरीयसो यावन्नरा नावमंस्यन्ति सर्वे तमोत्तरं यावदिदं न वर्तते तावद् व्रजामि परलोकं॑ चिराय,“जबतक सभी श्रेष्ठ मनुष्य महान् पुरुषोंकी नीचोंके समान अवहेलना नहीं करते हैं तथा जबतक इस संसारमें अज्ञानजनित तमोगुणका बाहुल््य नहीं हो जाता, इसके पहले ही मैं चिरकालके लिये परलोक चला जाऊँ
purā varān pratyavarān garīyaso yāvan narā nāvamasyanti sarve tamottaraṃ yāvad idaṃ na vartate tāvad vrajāmi paralokaṃ cirāya |
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ก่อนกาลจะมาถึงที่ผู้คนไม่ยกย่องผู้ประเสริฐอีกต่อไป กลับดูหมิ่นมหาบุรุษประหนึ่งต่ำต้อย และก่อนที่โลกนี้จะถูกท่วมท้นด้วยความมืดซึ่งเกิดจากอวิชชา—เราจักไปสู่ปรโลกเป็นเวลายาวนาน”
