Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
ते यद् ब्रूयुर्महाप्राज्ञास्तच्चैव समुदाचर । ततो वसिष्ठ देवर्षिमगस्त्यमथ काश्यपम्
te yad brūyur mahāprājñās tac caiva samudācara | tato vasiṣṭhaṃ devarṣim agastyam atha kāśyapaṃ, kena vā karmayogena pradānena iha kena vā ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—“เหล่ามหาฤษีผู้มีปัญญายิ่งกล่าวสิ่งใด จงประพฤติตามนั้นโดยครบถ้วน” แล้วปรศุรามะผู้รุ่งเรือง ผู้เป็นโอรสแห่งภฤคุ ได้เข้าไปหาวสิษฐะฤๅษีผู้เป็นเทพฤๅษี พร้อมทั้งอคัสตยะและกาศยปะ แล้วทูลถามว่า “ข้าแต่พราหมณ์ผู้ประเสริฐ ข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาความบริสุทธิ์ โปรดบอกเถิด—ด้วยการปฏิบัติแห่งกรรมโยคะประการใด หรือด้วยทานใดในโลกนี้ จึงจะบรรลุความบริสุทธิ์ได้?”
