Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
तदुच्यतां महाभागा इति जातघृणोड<ब्रवीत् । इत्युक्ता वेदशास्त्रज्ञास्तमूचुस्ते महर्षय:
tad ucyatāṃ mahābhāgā iti jātaghṛṇo 'bravīt | ity uktā vedaśāstrajñās tam ūcus te maharṣayaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—ปรศุรามผู้มีดวงใจอ่อนลงด้วยความกรุณาได้กล่าวว่า “ท่านผู้ประเสริฐทั้งหลาย โปรดบอกสิ่งนั้นแก่ข้าพเจ้าเถิด” ครั้นเขาถามดังนี้ เหล่ามหาฤษีผู้รอบรู้พระเวทและศาสตราจึงกล่าวตอบ เปิดฉากคำสั่งสอนว่า อะไรเล่าคือสิ่งชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ยิ่งและค้ำจุนธรรม สำหรับผู้ที่ข้องเกี่ยวกับกรรมอันดุเดือดและรุนแรง
