Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows

सत्यवन्तः स्वर्गलोके मोदन्ते भरतर्षभ । दम: सत्यफलावाप्तिरुक्ता सर्वात्मना मया,भरतश्रेष्ठ! सत्य बोलनेवाले मनुष्य स्वर्गलोकमें आनन्द भोगते हैं। किंतु इन्द्रियसंयम-- दम उस सत्यके फलकी प्राप्तिमें कारण है। यह बात मैंने सम्पूर्ण हृदयसे कही है

satyavantaḥ svargaloke modante bharatarṣabha | damaḥ satyaphalāvāptir uktā sarvātmanā mayā ||

โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐแห่งภารตะ ผู้สัตย์จริงย่อมรื่นรมย์ในสวรรค์; แต่การสำรวมอินทรีย์—ดมะ—นี่เองที่ประกาศว่าเป็นหนทางให้ได้ผลแห่งสัจจะโดยแท้ ข้าพเจ้ากล่าวด้วยสุดใจ
