ब्राह्मण उवाच यत्‌ तत्र कृत्वा सुमहत्‌ पुण्यं स्यात्‌ तद्‌ ब्रवीहि मे । सर्वस्य हि प्रमाणं त्वं त्रैलोक्यस्यापि सत्तम,ब्राह्मणने कहा--साधुशिरोमणे! संसारमें जो कर्म करनेसे महान्‌ पुण्य होता हो वह मुझे बताइये; क्योंकि समस्त त्रिलोकीके लिये धर्मके विषयमें आप ही प्रमाण हैं

brāhmaṇa uvāca | yat tatra kṛtvā sumahat puṇyaṃ syāt tad bravīhi me | sarvasya hi pramāṇaṃ tvaṃ trailokyasyāpi sattama ||

พราหมณ์ทูลว่า “ข้าแต่ผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่สัตบุรุษ! ขอทรงบอกเถิดว่า ณ ที่นั้นกระทำกรรมใดจึงบังเกิดบุญใหญ่ยิ่งแก่ข้าพเจ้า; เพราะในเรื่องธรรม ท่านทรงเป็นบรรทัดฐานแก่สรรพชน—แม้แก่ไตรโลกด้วย”
