य इमां व्याद्वतिं वेद ब्राह्मणो वेदसम्मिताम् । भ्राद्धस्य क्रियमाणस्य ब्रह्म भूयं स गच्छति,जो ब्राह्मण श्राद्धकालमें पृथ्वीकी गायी हुई वेदसम्मत इस गाथाका पाठ करता है, वह ब्रह्मभावको प्राप्त होता है
ya imāṁ vyādvatīṁ veda brāhmaṇo vedasammitām | śrāddhasya kriyamāṇasya brahma bhūyaṁ sa gacchati ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า: พราหมณ์ผู้รู้และสวดคาถา ‘วยาทวตี’ อันเป็นคาถาที่วেদรับรองนี้ ในกาลที่ประกอบพิธีศราทธะ ย่อมบรรลุภาวะแห่งพรหมัน
भीष्म उवाच
That śrāddha, when accompanied by Veda-approved sacred recitation (here, the ‘Vyādvatī’ gāthā) and performed in the proper ritual context, yields not only ritual merit but can become a means toward the highest spiritual attainment—reaching the state of Brahman.
Bhīṣma, in his instruction on dharma and rites, states the फल (spiritual result) of reciting a particular Veda-consistent gāthā during an ongoing śrāddha: the brāhmaṇa who knows/recites it attains brahma-bhāva.
