Bhūmi-dānasya Māhātmya

The Pre-eminence of Land-Gift

एता जात्यस्तु वृक्षाणां तेषां रोपे गुणास्त्विमे । कीर्तिश्व मानुषे लोके प्रेत्य चैव फलं शुभम्‌,ये वृक्षोंकी जातियाँ हैं। अब इनके लगानेसे जो लाभ हैं, वे यहाँ बताये जाते हैं। वृक्ष लगानेवाले मनुष्यकी इस लोकमें कीर्ति बनी रहती है और मरनेके बाद उसे उत्तम शुभ फलकी प्राप्ति होती है

etā jātyas tu vṛkṣāṇāṁ teṣāṁ rope guṇās tv ime | kīrtiś ca mānuṣe loke pretya caiva phalaṁ śubham ||

นี่คือจำพวกของต้นไม้ทั้งหลาย บัดนี้เราจักกล่าวถึงคุณความดีที่เกิดจากการปลูกมัน ผู้ปลูกต้นไม้ย่อมมีเกียรติยศมั่นคงในโลกมนุษย์ และเมื่อสิ้นชีวิตแล้ว ย่อมได้รับผลบุญอันประเสริฐเป็นมงคล
