Varṇasaṃkara: Causes, Classifications, and Conduct-based Recognition (वर्णसंकरः—हेतु-जाति-आचारनिर्णयः)

स्वयंवृत्तेन सा$ऊज्ञप्ता पित्रा वै प्रत्यपद्यत । तत्‌ तस्यान्ये प्रशंसन्ति धर्मज्ञा नेतरे जना:,सावित्रीने पिताकी आज्ञा लेकर स्वयं चुने हुए पतिके साथ सम्बन्ध स्थापित किया था। उसके इस कार्यकी दूसरे धर्मज्ञ पुरुष प्रशंसा करते हैं; परंतु कुछ लोग नहीं भी करते हैं

svayaṃvṛttena sā ājñaptā pitrā vai pratyapadyata | tat tasyānye praśaṃsanti dharmajñā na itare janāḥ ||

ด้วยคำสั่งของบิดา นางจึงดำเนินตามทางที่ตนเลือกและยอมรับผลที่เกิดขึ้น. ผู้รู้ธรรมย่อมสรรเสริญความประพฤตินั้น แต่คนอื่นหาได้สรรเสริญไม่
