अपर त्रिचत्वारिशो<् ध्याय: देवशर्माका विपुलको निर्दोष बताकर समझाना और भीष्मका युधिष्ठिरको स्त्रियोंकी रक्षाके लिये आदेश देना भीष्म उवाच तमागतमभिप्रेक्ष्य शिष्यं वाक्यमथाब्रवीत्‌ | देवशर्मा महातेजा यत्‌ तत्‌ शृूणु जनाधिप,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--नरेश्वर! अपने शिष्य विपुलको आया हुआ देख महातेजस्वी देवशर्माने उनसे जो बात कही, वही बताता हूँ, सुनो

bhīṣma uvāca | tam āgatam abhiprekṣya śiṣyaṃ vākyam athābravīt | devaśarmā mahātejā yat tat śṛṇu janādhipa ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา ครั้นเห็นศิษย์ของตนคือวิปุละมาถึง เทวศรมาผู้รุ่งเรืองก็กล่าวถ้อยคำนี้ แล้วทรงสดับเถิด โอ้เจ้าแห่งมนุษย์ ว่าเขากล่าวสิ่งใด”
