आहृय दयितं शिष्यं विपुलं प्राह भार्गवम्‌ । फिर उन महा तपस्वीने मन-ही-मन उसकी रक्षाका उपाय सोचकर अपने प्रिय शिष्य भगुवंशी विपुलको बुलाकर कहा--

āhṛya dayitaṃ śiṣyaṃ vipulaṃ prāha bhārgavam |

แล้วมหาตบสีนั้นครุ่นคิดในใจถึงอุบายแห่งการคุ้มครอง จึงเรียกศิษย์อันเป็นที่รัก คือวิปุละผู้สืบสายภฤคุ แล้วกล่าวแก่เขา
