Gṛhastha-Vrata
गृहस्थश्वावजेष्यामि मृत्युमित्येव स प्रभो । प्रतिज्ञामकरोद् धीमान् दीप्ततेजा विशाम्पते,प्रजानाथ! प्रभो! उद्दीप्त तेजवाले उस बुद्धिमान सुदर्शनने यह प्रतिज्ञा कर ली कि मैं गृहस्थ-धर्मका पालन करते हुए ही मृत्युकोी जीत लूँगा
gṛhasthaś cāvajeṣyāmi mṛtyum ity eva sa prabho | pratijñām akarod dhīmān dīptatejā viśāmpate ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นนายแห่งปวงประชา ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นใหญ่! สุทรรศนะผู้มีปัญญาและรุ่งเรือง ผู้เป็นผู้นำแห่งชน ได้ตั้งปณิธานนี้ว่า ‘เราจักพิชิตความตาย โดยดำรงอยู่ในธรรมแห่งคฤหัสถ์’”
