Educational Q&A

Bhīṣma highlights the sanctity of a righteous gathering: when an assembly is graced by sages and aligned with the divine, it becomes a powerful setting for dharma—where truth, restraint, and ethical counsel can be received and preserved.

In the ongoing instruction of Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma characterizes the present context as a holy convocation—an assembly (samavāya) attended by ṛṣis and devas—thereby elevating the authority and spiritual weight of the discourse being delivered.
