Shloka 3

कृतयत्नाफलाश्रैव दृश्यन्ते शतशो नरा: । अयत्नेनैधमानाश्र दृश्यन्ते बहवो जना:,ऐसे सैकड़ों मनुष्य देखे जाते हैं, जो धनकी प्राप्तिके लिये यत्न करनेपर भी सफल न हो सके और बहुत-से ऐसे मनुष्य भी दृष्टिगोचर होते हैं, जिनका धन बिना यत्नके ही दिनों- दिन बढ़ रहा है

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | kṛtayatnāphalāś caiva dṛśyante śataśo narāḥ | ayatnenaiva dhanaṃ yeṣāṃ dṛśyante bahavo janāḥ ||

ยุธิษฐิระกล่าวว่า— มีมนุษย์นับร้อยที่เห็นได้ชัดว่าเพียรพยายามแล้วก็ยังไร้ผล และยังมีคนอีกมากที่ทรัพย์สินเพิ่มพูนวันแล้ววันเล่า ทั้งที่แทบไม่ต้องออกแรง
