द्वारवत्यां समासीन पुरा मां कुरुनन्दन । प्रद्युम्न: परिपप्रच्छ ब्राह्म॒णैः परिकोपित:,कुरुनन्दन! पहलेकी बात है, एक दिन ब्राह्मणोंने मेरे पुत्र प्रद्युममको कुपित कर दिया। उस समय मैं द्वारकामें ही था। प्रद्युम्नने मुझसे आकर पूछा--
Dvāravatyāṃ samāsīnaḥ purā māṃ Kurunandana | Pradyumnaḥ paripapraccha brāhmaṇaiḥ parikopitaḥ ||
วายูกล่าวว่า—“โอ ผู้เป็นที่ชื่นใจแห่งกุรุ ในกาลก่อน เมื่อเราพำนักอยู่ ณ ทวารวตี บุตรของเราคือประทยุมน์ ถูกพราหมณ์บางพวกยั่วยุจนโกรธ แล้วมาหาเราและซักถามเรา”
