मुज्च भार्यामुतथ्यस्य कस्मात् त्वं हृतवानसि । “वरुण! तुम मेरे कहनेसे मेरी पत्नीको छोड़ दो। तुमने क्यों उसका अपहरण किया है? तुम लोगोंके लिये लोकपाल बनाये गये हो
muñca bhāryām utathyasya kasmāt tvaṁ hṛtavān asi
“จงปล่อยภรรยาของอุตถยะเสีย เหตุใดท่านจึงฉุดนางไป? ท่านทั้งหลายถูกแต่งตั้งให้เป็นโลกบาล ผู้พิทักษ์โลก มิใช่ผู้ทำลายระเบียบแห่งโลก โสมะได้ยกธิดาให้แก่ข้า นางเป็นภรรยาชอบธรรมของข้า แล้วเหตุใดวันนี้ท่านจึงลักพานางไป?” ตามถ้อยคำของอุตถยะ นารทได้ทูลถามวรุณ เจ้าแห่งนทีและสาครว่า “ขอทรงปล่อยสตรีของอุตถยะเถิด เหตุใดจึงลักพานางมา?”
