Educational Q&A

Bhīṣma teaches that adherence to a dharmic practice yields both worldly security (freedom from common dangers like illness, wild beasts, elephants, and thieves) and inner purification (relief from sorrow/confusion and release from sin).

In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the fruits of virtuous observances; here he summarizes the protective and purifying benefits that accrue to the practitioner.
