दुर्योधनश्व शोच्चो5सौ सपुत्र भ्रातृबान्धव: । कृतवान् यो<बुद्धि: क्रोधाद्धरिगाण्डीविविग्रहम्,आज वह दुर्योधन अपने पुत्र, भाई और सम्बन्धियोंसहित शोकका विषय हो गया है; क्योंकि उस मूर्खने क्रोधके आवेशमें आकर श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनसे युद्ध ठाना था
duryodhanaś ca śocyo 'sau saputra-bhrātṛ-bāndhavaḥ | kṛtavān yo 'buddhiḥ krodhād hari-gāṇḍīvi-vigraham ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “บัดนี้ทุรโยธนะพร้อมด้วยบุตร พี่น้อง และวงศ์ญาติ กลายเป็นที่น่าเวทนา เพราะคนเขลานั้นถูกกระแสโทสะครอบงำ จึงตั้งใจทำศึกกับพระกฤษณะและอรชุนผู้ถือคันธนูกาณฑีวะ”
