Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
तथा देवनदी चेयं सर्वतीर्थाभिसम्भूृता । गगनाद् गां गता देवी गड्जा सर्वसरिद्वरा,ये समस्त तीर्थोंसे सेवित तथा सम्पूर्ण सरिताओंमें श्रेष्ठ देवनदी गंगादेवी भी, जो आकाशसे पृथ्वीपर उतरी हैं, यहाँ विराजमान हैं
tathā devanadī ceyaṁ sarvatīrthābhisambhṛtā | gaganād gāṁ gatā devī gaṅgā sarvasaridvarā ||
“ฉันใดก็ฉันนั้น พระคงคา—นทีเทวะ—ก็สถิตอยู่ ณ ที่นี้ เป็นที่รวมแห่งสรรพตีรถะ เป็นยอดแห่งสายน้ำทั้งปวง และเป็นเทวีผู้เสด็จลงจากสวรรค์สู่พื้นพิภพ”
