Kāla (Right Time), Effort, and the Ethics of Giving — कालः, प्रयत्नः, दानधर्मश्च

गृहस्थ ब्राह्मण घरमें रहकर प्रतिदिन संहिताका पाठ और शास्त्रोंका स्वाध्याय करे। अध्ययनको जीविकाका साधन न बनावे

Transliteration

gṛhastho brāhmaṇo gṛhe sthitvā pratidinaṃ saṃhitā-pāṭhaṃ ca śāstrāṇāṃ svādhyāyaṃ ca kuryāt | adhyayanaṃ jīvikā-sādhanaṃ na kuryāt |

Translation

พระมหิศวรตรัสว่า “พราหมณ์ผู้ดำรงคฤหัสถ์พึงอยู่เรือนของตน แล้วสวดสังหิตาเป็นประจำทุกวัน และประกอบสวาธยายะแห่งคัมภีร์ศาสตรา อย่าได้ทำการศึกษาให้เป็นเครื่องหาเลี้ยงชีพ”
