संहिताध्यायिना भाव्य॑ गृहे वै गृहमेधिना । नित्यं स्वाध्यायिना भाव्यं न चाध्ययनजीविना

Transliteration

saṃhitādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ gṛhe vai gṛhamedhinā | nityaṃ svādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ na ca adhyayanajīvinā ||

Translation

พระมหิศวรตรัสว่า “คฤหัสถ์ผู้อยู่เรือนพึงเป็นผู้ศึกษาสังหิตาและดำรงการเรียนรู้อย่างมีวินัย พึงประกอบสวาธยายะเป็นนิตย์ แต่ไม่พึงทำการศึกษาให้เป็นเพียงเครื่องเลี้ยงชีพ”
