देशेषु च पवित्रेषु फलवत्सु समाहिता: । मूलवत्सु च मेध्येषु वसन्ति नियतव्रता:
deśeṣu ca pavitreṣu phalavatsu samāhitāḥ | mūlavatsu ca medhyeṣu vasanti niyatavratāḥ ||
เหล่าผู้ถือวัตรมั่นคงนั้น ตั้งจิตเป็นหนึ่ง พำนักอยู่ในถิ่นอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์—อุดมด้วยผลไม้และรากไม้ และเป็นสถานที่เกื้อหนุนความบริสุทธิ์
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Disciplined vow-observers cultivate inner concentration and choose pure, supportive environments—holy places rich in simple sustenance (fruits and roots)—so that their life remains aligned with restraint, purity, and dharmic practice.
Mahādeva describes the lifestyle of regulated ascetics: they live in sanctifying regions that provide minimal, natural food (fruits and roots) and foster mental collectedness, indicating an ideal setting for tapas and steady observance of vows.
