Educational Q&A

The verse underscores dharmic reverence: certain beings and principles—divine relations (wives, daughters, mothers of the gods), cosmic epochs (Manvantaras), and sacred supports of life and order (cows, Moon, Sun, and Hari)—are to be honored as embodiments of the sacred and of the world’s sustaining order.

Vāsudeva is listing revered categories and cosmic/sacred entities, expanding the listener’s sense of what deserves respect within dharma—moving from divine kinship to cosmic time and then to universally visible sustainers like the Moon and Sun, culminating in Hari.
