Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
शूरं बलवतां श्रेष्ठ कान्तरूपमकल्मषम् | आत्मतुल्यं मम सुतं प्रयच्छाच्युत माचिरम्,“अच्युत! आप मुझे अपने ही समान शूरवीर, बलवानोंमें श्रेष्ठ तथा कमनीय रूप- सौन्दर्यसे युक्त निष्पाप पुत्र प्रदान कीजिये। इसमें विलम्ब नहीं होना चाहिये
śūraṃ balavatāṃ śreṣṭhaṃ kāntarūpam akalmaṣam | ātmatulyaṃ mama sutaṃ prayacchācyuta māciram ||
โอ้ อจุตะ โปรดประทานบุตรแก่ข้าพเจ้าโดยไม่ชักช้า—ให้เป็นผู้กล้าหาญ ยอดแห่งผู้มีกำลัง งามด้วยรูปโฉม และปราศจากมลทินทั้งปวง อย่าได้ผัดผ่อนเลย
